Following the completion of the re-branding we performed for BikeWise – we are pleased to present their new site.

The site is an integrated (site/blog) offering – built as a custom WordPress theme, featuring a number of custom plugins and scripts.

We’re loving the finished look and feel and bold contrasting colour palette.

Recently we’ve been working closely with eXpertLocal – an exciting new startup looking to help you to discover your city (and other cities around the world), through the eyes of the people ‘in the know’ – aka locals.

eXpertLocal will also provide you with the opportunity to earn money from sharing your skills / passions with other people. Love photography? Why not organise a photography tour and get paid for your time? Show people around hidden laneways, introduce tourists to the best spots in town, invite people to your house for a traditional family meal, teach a group to paint, to run, roller skate through the city, take locals and tourists on a tour of the best pubs in your neighbourhood. We’re helping eXpertLocal to build and shape their exciting new business online. This week we launched the new site for mobsource.   Following the huge success of the launch/data capature/teaser site we created a few months ago – we’ve rolled out the Beta release with a long list of iterations and feature releases yet to come.

mobsource will definitely be one to keep an eye on in the Aus/US startup arena for their disruptive service of trading bandwidth online.

BikeWise came to us with the challenge of helping them to re-align themselves online.

They’ve grown quickly as a successful business, positioning themselves as the leader in what they do, and they needed the web presence to match.

Working with them on everything from branding through to web strategy and a completely new web offering – we’ve picked them up and we’re dropping them off right where they need to be.

First up – we started with a brand refresh.

Sticking with the original brand colours we took the existing logo on an exciting journey.

BikeWise were keen to re-use the elements of the wise owl and the bicycle.  It does what it says on the tin and speaks and displays everything about their core offering.

Rather than being so literal with the display of the identity elements, we looked at creating something more integrated and uniform -fusing together the two elements.

We’ve always been fans of Prezi for putting together unique looking presentations. But when we stumbled across Impress.js by Bartek Szopka we were a little bit excited to say the least.

Impress is all about building the presentation yourself. It’s a presentation framework based on the CSS3 transforms and transitions in browsers. It’s pretty awesome and allows you to do a number of cool effects such as 3D transitions, spins and the type transition based flow we’ve got used to with Prezi.

Paper.js is an open source vector graphics scripting framework that runs on top of the HTML5 Canvas. It offers a clean Scene Graph / Document Object Model and a lot of powerful functionality to create and work with vector graphics and bezier curves, all neatly wrapped up in a well designed, consistent and clean programming interface.

And yes – nothing from what you see in their current examples contain Flash. That’s pretty impressive.

We can’t wait to start delving into this on some future projects – especially for use on the iPad. Who wants to be our first contender?

Being a small biz ourselves (ed: small but mighty) we understand the importance of having local support and being part of a community. Making these types of connections and helping one another to succeed is important for any business.

Which is why when we found out about the newly formed Chippendale Creative Precinct supporting the local area as a vibrant and creative hub – we jumped in feet first to offer our support.

While we’re actually based just across the road in Surry Hills, we always try to do as much as possible to support both our local ‘hood and those that surround us.
